The project
This illustration project consists of six posters, depicting hand drawn animals who find themselves in a hospital setting that a child might encounter. By introducing whimsy to normality, the series aims to reduce stress and anxiety in young patients and visitors in hospitals and medical environments.
This illustration project consists of six posters, depicting hand drawn animals who find themselves in a hospital setting that a child might encounter. By introducing whimsy to normality, the series aims to reduce stress and anxiety in young patients and visitors in hospitals and medical environments.
The illustrations
All animals are drawn with a mechanical pencil with blue fillings. The conditions depicted, reflect some of the things that children in need of medical help might have to deal with. One poster shows the nurse, who is portrayed by the tiger. The animals carry an object that helps them get through the day, be it a glass of water, crutches, a clipboard for the nurse, or a little teddy bear.
